A free billing app for your Android phone.

Turn the phone in your pocket into a GST billing counter. Scan barcodes, print to a Bluetooth printer and keep billing without internet.

Your phone is the counter

Plenty of shops do not need a computer at the counter. A tea stall, a vegetable vendor, a salon or a small kirana can bill entirely from an Android phone and a pocket-sized Bluetooth printer. PaisaBill is designed for one-handed use on a phone and switches to a wider layout on tablets.

  • Camera barcode scanning: point the camera at a barcode to add the product. No separate scanner needed.
  • Quantity keypad: enter 0.5 kg or 3 pieces with large, easy keys.
  • Favourites and categories: your best sellers are one tap away.
  • Hold bills: park a bill while the customer decides, serve the next one, then resume.

Bluetooth and USB printing from the phone

PaisaBill on Android connects to thermal printers in three ways: Bluetooth Classic, used by most portable and counter receipt printers; Bluetooth LE, used by some newer compact printers; and USB through an OTG cable for a wired counter printer. Wi-Fi and LAN printers on port 9100 work too, with a scan to find them on your network.

Print 58mm or 80mm receipts with your GSTIN, HSN codes, CGST and SGST and a UPI QR code. In image mode the ₹ symbol and product names in any Indian script print correctly. Need to send a bill instead? Share an A4 or A5 PDF invoice through WhatsApp, email or any app on your phone using the Android share sheet. Read the thermal printer billing page for details.

Choosing a printer for phone billing

If you are buying a printer for phone billing, a few points save trouble later:

  • Paper width: 58mm printers are small and cheap and suit short bills. 80mm gives room for HSN, MRP and rate columns and is easier to read.
  • ESC/POS support: most receipt printers use ESC/POS commands. Check the box or listing for it.
  • Battery or mains: a battery printer suits delivery, events and stalls without a socket. A mains-powered counter printer is better for all-day use.
  • Test before you rely on it: add the printer in PaisaBill and print a test bill in image mode. If the ₹ symbol and QR code look right, you are ready.

Our thermal printer setup guide covers pairing, paper loading and fixes for blank or garbled prints.

Permissions, explained plainly

We ask only for what billing needs:

  • Nearby devices (Android 12 and newer) to find and connect to Bluetooth printers.
  • Location on Android 11 and older only, because those Android versions require it to scan for Bluetooth devices. PaisaBill never reads or stores where you are.
  • Camera to scan barcodes. Images are not saved or uploaded.
  • Internet to sync your bills and products to your account.

Our privacy policy lists exactly what data is stored.

Billing that survives a weak signal

Mobile data drops in basements, markets and at peak hours. PaisaBill saves every bill on the phone first and syncs it to your account when the signal returns. A small status chip tells you if everything is synced or how many bills are waiting.

  • Check the dashboard: today's sales, bills, average bill and tax collected.
  • Invite staff with a join code and control what they can do.
  • Switch between shops if you run more than one.
